Four Seasons Hotel Wedding Fair

I got a call last week from the folks at the Bridal Network, Karla and Connie who run the San Francisco Wedding Fair at the Four Seasons every year. They had another photographer cancel at the last minute, so I had an opportunity to be in the show. I've wanted to be part of the show for many years, even before I moved to the bay area! I'm so excited! So it's lit a fire under my butt to get my ducks in a row- I just launched my new website , spent solid 3 days struggling with indesign to create a new marketing piece, and I'm praying that my new sample album will be ready in the next 3 weeks..I look forward to meeting you at the show!

2007 was (and still is) a great year!

2007 is coming to a close and the Christmas holiday is less than a month away! Does it seem like each year is getting faster or am I just getting old? Like a little elf,  I'm working every day on album orders promised to be shipped in time for the holidays, and also working my new website. I was a partner with Earl Christie (Mermin+Christie Photographers) since 2003 and we have amicably decided to go solo. The new website is to be launched in late December,  www.melissamermin.com, and my company is called LoveStories. I liked the name because it really is what I create, and it gets people asking at parties, "What's a love story?" rather than just reading 'photography' next to the name.

I've very excited about what 2008 will bring. My first wedding of the year will be February 2nd weekend in Naples, Florida. And a big perk is that I will get to spend time with my dad in Sarasota, and get to be in southwest Florida in February-- yeah! I've hired the great rock-n-roll/wedding photographer Liz Linder of Boston to be my second shooter and personal masseuse, and we will hopefully have a chance to catch up and relax by the pool after 3 days of shooting together..
